Solar chimney for enhanced stack ventilation.

Type of article: Article
Summary
Describes a steady-state mathematical model developed for a solar chimney used to enhance the effect of thermally induced ventilation in buildings. States the model takes into account different sizes of the opening of solar chimneys with varying values of the discharge coefficients. Notes that numerical calculations show that a collector area of 2.25 m2 can induce an air flow between 140 to 330 m3/hour for solar radiation of 200 and 1,000 watts/m2 respectively.
