DESIGN, FABRICATION, EVACUATION AND TESTING METHODS OF SUPERINSULATED PIPING HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED. A PROTOTYPE SUPERINSULATED PIPE SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED IS OPERATING IN THE AUTHORS CAPTIVE OXYGEN PLANT. AN ACCOUNT OF THE TECHNOLOGIES DEVELOPED ALONG WITH THE DESCRIPTION OF PROTOTYPE IS PRESENTED IN THE PAPER. INDIGENOUS CAPABILITIES NOW EXIST FOR THE DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE OF SUPERINSULATED PIPING AND THE AUTHORS HAVE PLANS TO EXTEND THIS TECHNOLOGY TO OTHER SYSTEMS LIKE STORAGE, AEROSPACE ETC.
