SOME PROBLEMS WITH THE DEFROSTING OF HEAT PUMP EVAPORATORS.

QUELQUES PROBLEMES DU DEGIVRAGE DES EVAPORATEURS DES POMPES A CHALEUR.

Author(s) : BLECHA S., SMUTNY F.

Summary

AN ANALYSIS OF THE YEAR-ROUND FREQUENCY OF OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURES FOR A DESIGN REGION OF 261 K (-12 DEG C) ENABLES ONE TO CONCLUDE THAT THE BIVALENCE TEMPERATUREFOR A HEAT PUMP FOR HEATING PURPOSES SHOULD BE AROUND 273 K (0 DEG C). THIS RESULTS IN THE NECESSITY OF DEFROSTING EVAPORATOR. BY DERIVING THERMODYNAMIC EQUATIONS, THE ENERGY NEEDED FOR DEFROSTING AN EVAPORATOR IS DETERMINED. A GRAPHICALDETERMINATION OF THE EVAPORATOR DEFROSTING TIME AT A CONSTANT HEAT LOAD IS PRESENTED. THE OPTIMUM HEATING POWER TO DEFROST A HEAT PUMP EVAPORATOR IS OUTLINED IN THE CONCLUSIONS.
