SOME REMARKS ON THE HEAT CONDUCTIVITY OF HIGH-TEMPERATURE SUPERCONDUCTORS.

Author(s) : GMELIN E.

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE HEAT CONDUCTIVITY OF THE NEW HIGH-TEMPERATURE SUPERCONDUCTORS IS REVIEWED BRIEFLY, AND RELATED EXPERIMENTAL PROBLEMS ARE DISCUSSED CRITICALLY. MODEL CALCULATION DEMONSTRATES THAT THE < PLATE METHOD > IS UNSUITABLE FOR THE DETERMINATION OF THE THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF THESE MATERIALS. A NEW RELATION BETWEEN THE TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE OF THE RESISTIVITY AND THE MAGNITUDE OF THE THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY IS DISCUSSED ; THIS RELATION GIVES STRONG SUPPORT TO THE PRESENCE OF ELECTRON-PHONON INTERACTION.
