Split shield for correction of radiation errors in steady state thermal conductivity measurements.

Author(s) : TALPE J., AVENDANO A.

Type of article: Article

Summary

An axial heat flow, steady-state method for thermal conductivity measurements above 80 K on poor conductors is described. A split shield (one part held at the sink temperature and the other kept at the hot-end temperature) is shown to be successful for the correction of radiation errors. Measurements on poly (methyl methacrylate) are reported.
