STATISTICAL EVALUATION OF LOAD FACTORS TO DETERMINE PEAK HEATING AND COOLING REQUIREMENTS.

Author(s) : BUTKUS A. S. Jr

Summary

THIS PAPER PROVIDES A METHODOLOGY FOR CALCULATING DIVERSITY IN HEATING AND COOLING LOADS. THIS METHODOLOGY WOULD ALLOW TO APPLY A REDUCTION FACTOR TO THE NON-DIVERSIFIED PEAK OF A LOAD COMPONENT TO DESIGN TO A VALUE LESS THAN THIS NON-DIVERSIFIED PEAK, WITHIN A MARGIN OF CERTAINTY. IT EMPLOYS A STATISTICAL MODEL WHICH REQUIRES INPUT SUCH AS PROBABILITY OF OPERATION OF LOAD COMPONENTS AND AN ACCEPTABLE PERCENTAGE OF TIME FOR THE LOAD TO EXCEED THE DESIGN VALUE.
