Summary

SECO2 is a low-temperature thermal storage system which uses the latent heat of carbon dioxide at its triple point (-56.6 deg C, 0.52 megapascal). In this SECO2 system, solid is formed with a conventional cascade refrigerator and is accumulated in a storage vessel. Cooling is supplied from the vessel on demand by circulating liquid CO2 from the vessel.
