Summary
The advantage of thermal storage is presented. The methods use sensible or latent heat. The later is the most used in industrial cold and air conditioning. The accumulator-exchanger presented comprises a steel container full of spherical nodules containing the phase-changing material. Several storage strategies can be considered: partial storage, total in peak hours or seasonal. The accumulator-exchanger can also be used extra as an emergency device. In conclusion, the advantages of the system are given. J.L.
