Summary

The barriers in the way of market penetration by renewable energy have led the German government to a package of political steps in different fields: Research and Development, improvement of regulatory, administrative and institutional conditions; improvement of information and education/training; improvement of international cooperation. The article presents the 1994-1998 projects financed by the federal ministry for economy, regulations, information and promotion.
