Summary

The GRASSO RC12E compressors are a part of the largest reciprocating compressors in industrial refrigeration. The target of the RC12E is to significantly increase the performance price/ratio by increasing the speed of the compressor up to 1500 rpm for ammonia applications and 1200 rpm for halocarbons. One of the new technologies used is the application of fibre reinforced plastic composite valves. The design, durability aspects and experimental proof of the valves will be demonstrated.
