Study of a new air-conditioning system for civil aircraft.

Author(s) : YUAN L., LIU M., WANG J.

Summary

A new air-conditioning system for civil aircraft is proposed, in which electric supercharger and vapour cycle refrigeration replace traditional air cycle machine, a separate electric ram air fan is used to regulate fan speed for optimum performance, air purification set with high efficiency is installed to purify portion of cabin exhaust for recirculation, deletion of engine high-pressure bleed air and ram air from ambient atmosphere and fuel aboard as heat sink are performed. Analysis study as an example shows that the new system has higher performance and lower impact on the thermodynamic cycle of the engine, consumes less fuel and reduces system noise, ensures cabin air quality and improves health and comfort in cabin.
