Summary
To estimate the effective working conditions of ship conditioner air coolers, a method based on calculation of the lengths of intensive evaporation with wetted tube wall zone and disperse flow with extremely low heat transfer to dry tube wall zone was proposed. The effectiveness of the air cooler and piston hermetic compressor joint work was estimated by the method. It was established that with the rise in boiling temperature the border of dispersed liquid complete evaporation moves to the tube exit, causing a risk of slugging in the compressor cylinder. Refrigeration machine schemes providing effective working conditions of the air cooler and the compressor are proposed in order to enable decision-making.
