Summary
In this paper, a test rig was built to study the heat transfer characteristics of rectangular capsules. The influences of the inlet temperature of the tank and the flow rate of the secondary refrigerant were inspected. The mathematical models for the freezing and the melting processes were established. Comparisons were made between numerical and experimental results. The reasons for the differences were analysed.
