Summary

The paper describes the energy consumption of detached houses and apartments with information compiled during the hot and humid summer season in Fukuoka city. A method is tested to predict the energy consumption in six uses (for cooling, heating, hot water, cooking, lighting, and other). Variations in energy consumption and lifestyles on holidays and weekends are reported.
