Summary

The resonance of pipelines of reciprocating compressors in the offshore platform has always been a difficult problem. Some typical vibration control measures (such as increasing support or changing pipeline layout) are often hard to implement because the pipeline layout is complicated and the installation space of the support is very limited. This paper presents an adjustable dynamic vibration absorber. The device has the advantages of simple structure, convenient installation and the resonance frequency can be adjusted in a wide range. The vibration suppression effect of the dynamic vibration absorber on pipeline vibration is validated by numerical simulation and experiment. The experimental results show that the natural frequency of the pipeline avoids the excitation frequency and the vibration speed is reduced by 90.4% after the dynamic vibration absorber is installed.
