Study on a thermochemical resorption refrigeration and its application in the long-distance cold transportation.

Author(s) : BAO H. S., WANG R. Z., LI T. X.

Summary

A thermochemical resorption system for sub-zero refrigeration was designed and investigated in this paper. A new preferable group of sorption working pair MnCl2/NH3-NH4Cl/NH3 was selected based on the thermodynamic analysis of different reactive salts. Manganese chloride and ammonium chloride were used as high-temperature salt and low-temperature salt, respectively, and ammonia was utilized as refrigerant. The working performace of the resorption system was evaluated at different operating conditions such as the refrigeration temperatures (-5 and 0°C) and heat source temperature (ranging from 135 to 175°C). In addition, the influence of working parameters on the resorption performance was investigated and the operating optimization of thermochemical resorption refrigeration system was also dicussed. Furthermore, the feasibility of the long-distance cold transportation using thermochemical resorption refrigerant technology was verified experimentaly and studied.
