An interactive refrigeration system simulator software.

Author(s) : EAMES I. W., BROWN T., MAIDMENT G., et al.

Summary

This paper describes and evaluates the development of a novel software package which mathematically simulates the transient and steady-state operation of whole refrigeration systems of the type used for the storage and processing of food. The development formed part of a recently completed project funded by Defra, which is described in detail by James et al (2009). This software allows engineers to study the implications of design choices in terms of energy usage and carbon generation. The software can provide owners and designers with information on how a system's energy consumption might be reduced.
