THE RESONANT PISTON-TYPE OIL-FREE COMPRESSOR WHICHWAS DRIVEN BY A LINEAR MOTOR WAS STUDIED. TO REDUCE THE VIBRATION, 2 PISTONS MOVE OPPOSITELY, SO THE RECIPROCATING INERTIA FORCE IS ABLE TO CANCEL EACH OTHER. THE POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE PISTON RINGS WERE USED FOR THE OPERATION UNDER OIL-FREE CONDITION. THE PAPER DESCRIBES ITS DESIGN AND TEST RESULTS ON PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS.
