Supermarket refrigeration: what will be the right technology?

Supermarktkühlung: in welche Technologie investieren?

Author(s) : HEGGLIN A.

Type of article: Article

Summary

The author considers that reducing power consumption is possible only with electronic control of evaporators, variable coolant pumps, adequate heat reclaim concepts and demand control of condensing units. Investment costs of secondary coolant systems are slightly higher compared to direct installations. These costs are nevertheless offset by lower maintenance and (with adequate control strategies in place) lower operating costs.
