Surface tension of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane (HFC-245fa) from 233 to 373 K.

Author(s) : WANG F., LIU Z., FAN X.

Summary

The surface tension of saturated 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane (HFC-245fa) has been measured with a differential capillary rise method under vapour-liquid equilibrium conditions. Thirty-one experimental data points have been obtained in the temperature range from 223 to 373 K. The uncertainties of temperature are less than plus or minus 10 mK (ITS-90). The uncertainties of surface tension measurements were estimated to be less than plus or minus 0.2 mN/m. The results were correlated as functions of temperature, Van der Waals type and polynomial type.
