Summary

These are the results (in tabular form) of a survey made in France in 1992, on the number and tonnage of transport vehicles for perishable goods, totalling 73,169 units for 874,844 tons. Their distribution is given in number and tonnage: by region and by type of truck (insulated, refrigerated, mechanically refrigerated, multicompartment, and "mobile market" trucks providing retail food service). Among 62,523 refrigerated and mechanically-refrigerated vehicles, 66% belong to class C and 8,025 vehicles have an ATP certificate. J.R.
