WITH A FROZEN FOOD PRODUCTION OF 110,400 TONS IN 1984, SWITZERLAND IS WITHIN THE UPPER THIRD OF EUROPEAN COUNTRIES WITH A PER CAPITA CONSUMPTION OF 13.5 KG. ABOUT 50% OF PRODUCTION IS FOR CATERING, THE MAIN ITEMS BEING POULTRY, POTATO PRODUCTS, VEGETABLES, FISH AND SEAFOOD. FROZEN FOOD PRODUCERS CONCERNED ABOUT NUTRITION AND HEALTH ARE PRODUCING LOW CALORIE RANGE FOODS OF HIGH QUALITY.
