Summary

The direct and indirect methods of production are presented. At the moment, electrolysis is the only reliable possibility for producing high quantities of hydrogen. Much research is focused on this area. The different kinds of storage are also discussed. Because of the interest in hydrogen vehicles, substantial progress has been achieved. Research on the hydrogen transport is quite limited except for sea transport.
