Summary
For the purpose of obtaining fundamental data required for the designing of a heat pump system, the quantity and temperature of water for various uses were studied in two hotels and residential houses. It was found that the temperature of waste water from the guest rooms was higher than 30 deg C yearround and that the most calories (70 to about 90 %) used to heat the water remained in the waste water, making it an adequate heat source for the heat pump.
