TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION AND EFFECTIVENESS OF A FROSTED FIN.

Author(s) : POREDOS A., GASPERSIC B.

Summary

A TWO-DIMENSIONAL MODEL FOR THE CALCULATION OF TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION ALONG A FROST COVERED FIN IS DEVELOPED. ON THE BASIS OF TEMPERATURE FIELDS, THE EFFECTIVENESS OF A FROST COVERED FIN, BEING OF ESSENTIAL IMPORTANCE IN THE SIMULATION OF UNSTEADY OPERATION OF A FINNED EVAPORATOR WITH A FROST COVERED OUTSIDE SURFACE, HAS BEEN DEFINED. THE MATHEMATICAL MODEL HAS BEEN DEVELOPED FOR INSTANTANEOUS CONDITIONS ON AN ELEMENTARY FIN PART.
