The application of economizer ports on screw compressors.

Type of article: Article
Summary
Screw compressors, because of their design, operate with a fixed internal volume ratio. Unlike a reciprocating compressor that compresses the gas from the system suction pressure to the system discharge pressure (with allowances for valve losses), the screw compressor increases the suction pressure by a fixed ratio. This ratio is a function of the absolute suction pressure and the designed volume ratio (Vi) of the compressor.
