Summary

From the presented data, in a synthetic way, the following conclusions are given: a) in some components of the air-conditioning systems are optimal conditions for the appearance and growth of Legionella pneumophila, which can lead to severe epidemics among the persons who use them; b) the symptoms that are present in the case of an infection with Legionella pneumophila complex: it affects the respiratory system, the nervous system, the digestive system etc.; c) the diagnostication is difficult; only by laboratory analyses the infections can be precisely established; d) even if some adequate treatments are made, a great number of deaths (more than 15%) is registered. Finally, it is necessary that, for preventing infections with Legionella pneumophila, to assure a very good hygienization of the air conditioning systems and a systematic disinfection and deodorization of the systems. Specialists say that if these actions are not made at a very performant level, they could represent an attempt to the health of the persons that use these systems.
