THE EFFECT OF INLET PIPING SYSTEM ON THE RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR WORK.

Author(s) : LUSZCZYCKI M.

Summary

THE CRITERIA WHICH SHOULD BE SATISFIED BY THE INLET PIPING SYSTEM OF A RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR, ARE DISCUSSED. AN INLET PIPELINE WITH A PROPER PRESSURE PULSATION AND NOISE DAMPER SATISFYING THESE CRITERIA IS PRESENTED. CORRELATIONS FOR CALCULATING THE RELATIVE FILLING FACTOR WHICH IS A QUANTITATIVE MEASURE OF THE DYNAMIC SUPERCHARGING OF THE COMPRESSOR WERE DERIVED. A METHOD OF CALCULATING NATURAL VIBRATION FREQUENCY OF GAS MASS IN THE INLET PIPING SYSTEM IS DISCUSSED. THE RESULTS OF MEASUREMENTSOF THE EFFECT OF THE PROPOSED PIPING SYSTEM ON THE WORK OF THE COMPRESSOR, AND OF THE LEVEL OF NOISE EMITTED BY ITS INLET TO THE ENVIRONMENT ARE PRESENTED.
