Summary

THE MENINGIOMA IS RICH IN VASCULAR SUPPLY AND REMOVING IT BY OPERATING WILL CAUSE MUCH BLEEDING, ESPECIALLY IN REMOVING LARGE ONES. SO THE OPERATION IS RISKY. FROM JUNE 1984 TO MAY 1988, THE AUTHORS APPLIED CRYOGENICS TO THE COMPLETE REMOVAL OF 7 HUGE MENINGIOMAS. THIS METHOD CAN REDUCE BLOOD TRANSFUSION, HAD NO MORTALITY, AND THE RESULT WAS SATISFACTORY. THE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT ADOPTED AND THE CORRESPONDING EXPERIENCE ARE DESCRIBED.
