Summary
Two kinds of ferromagnetic shielding manners can be applied. In the paper, firstly, a calculating method suitable to analysing the cylindrical symmetrical ferromagnetic shielding system is developed. Secondly, these two kinds of ferromagnetic shields designed for the authors developed superconducting magnetic separator are in effect compared. Finally, an optimum ferromagnetic shield design used for this superconducting magnetic separator is given.
