Summary

The author describes the advantages of locating the air conditioning equipment in a ceiling surface, the principle of the cold beam, the plant design and construction. The air conditioned surface was about 6,000 m2, the beam length varied between 2 and 6 metres and their cooling capacity between 400 and 1,000 watts, of which about 190 watts were delivered by fresh air at 16 deg C.
