Summary

THERMOHYDRODYNAMIC DESCRIPTION OF THE ADIABATIC FLOW OF HELIUM II IN WHICH THE HIGH VELOCITY REGION UP TO 1 M/SEC WAS STUDIED IS GIVEN FOR A NEW TYPE MUTUAL FRICTION FORCE EXPERIMENTS CONSIST OF VARIOUS THERMODYNAMIC MEASUREMENTS AND THE NMR STUDY OF THE MOTION OF HELIUM 3 ATOMS ADDED TO THE SYSTEM. THERE WERE VARIOUS STAGES IN THE FLOW STATE OF SUPERFLUID HELIUM II, NOTABLY TWO CHARACTERISTIC VELOCITIES. AN INTERPRETATION OF THE RESULTS IS GIVEN WITH THE PINNING-DEPINNING MODEL OF QUANTIZED VORTICES.
