A REVISION OF THE REGULATIONS FOR PRESSURIZED CONTAINERS CAME INTO FORCE ON MAY 1, 1989. THE REASONS FOR THE REVISION WERE: 1) THE ADOPTION OF 3 EC-GUIDELINES FOR PRESSURIZED-GAS CONTAINERS ; 2) DEMANDS FOR HIGHER QUALITY ; 3) THE ELIMINATION OF RESTRICTIONS PLACED ON SMALLER PRESSURIZED CONTAINERS, AS WELL AS CHANGES IN GROUPS I, II AND V ; 4) EXTENSION OF THE REGULATION TO APPLY TO PIPE CONDUITS FOR FLAMMABLE, CORROSIVE OR POISONOUS GASES, VAPOURS AND LIQUIDS, INCLUSIVE OF CONDUITS WHICH SERVE AS CONNECTIONS BETWEEN PRESSURIZED CONTAINERS ; AND 5) ADDITIONS TO THE LIST OF PRESSURIZED CONTAINERS WHICH REQUIRE A SPECIAL PERMIT.
