Summary

REPORTS EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS ON THE EFFECT OF SURFACE ROUGHNESS ON THE LOCAL AND AVERAGE HEAT TRANSFER AND ON THE DRAG OF TUBE BANKS IN CROSSFLOW OF AIR AND TRANSFORMER OIL. DESCRIBES THE STAGGERED BANKS STUDIED AND THE EXPERIMENTAL TECHNIQUESEMPLOYED. THE STUDY RESULTED IN GENERAL RELATIONS FOR PREDICTING LOCAL HEAT TRANSFER, LOCAL FRICTION COEFFICIENT AND EFFICIENCY OF HEAT TRANSFER FOR A RANGE OF VALUES. SUMMARISES THESE AMONG THE CONCLUSIONS.
