The influence of the thermodynamic cycle parameters on the performance of refrigerators and freezers.

Summary

The results of a parametric study are presented which show the effects of the main thermodynamic cycle parameters on the performance of refrigerators and freezers with particular reference to the variations of the ambient temperature over a wide range. The results show that the coefficient of performance and the refrigeration capacity decrease sharply as the ambient temperature rises. Test results support these findings. These variations may be reduced quite significantly by using a variable displacement compressor.
