EFFECTS OF AMBIENT TEMPERATURE AND CONTROL SETTINGS ON THERMAL PERFORMANCE AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF A HOUSEHOLD REFRIGERATOR-FREEZER.

Author(s) : FARLEY K. J.

Summary

A HOUSEHOLD REFRIGERATOR-FREEZER WAS SUBJECTED TO CURRENT STANDARD TEST PROCEDURES USED TO EVALUATE THERMAL PERFORMANCE AND ENERGY USE. ADDITIONAL TESTS WERE CONDUCTED UNDER VARIOUS COMBINATIONS OF AMBIENT TEMPERATURE AND CONTROL SETTINGS. THE RESULTS REVEAL THE SENSITIVITY OF THERMAL PERFORMANCE AND ENERGY USE TO THESE VARIABLES AND ALSO THE DEVIATION FROM LINEAR BEHAVIOUR. REPORTED ENERGY USE VALUES BASED ON THE TWO-POINT AND FOUR-POINT STANDARD TEST METHODS WERE FOUND TO DIFFER BY LESS THAN 1%.
