Summary
The new model of an irreversible Ericsson refrigeration cycle employing paramagnetic salt as cyclic working substance is established, in which the influence of finite-rate heat transfer, heat leak, regenerative losses and irreversibility inside cyclic working substance on the cyclic performance are explored. The important performance parameters and optimal operating region of the refrigeration cycle are analyzed and discussed. The results obtained are more general than the related conclusions presented in the literatures and can provide some new theoretical information for the optimal design and performance evaluation of magnetic refrigerators.
