THE INTEGRATION OF ABSORPTION REFRIGERATING MACHINES IN COMMON DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEMS.

Author(s) : KRUSE C. D.

Summary

MOST URBAN AND INDUSTRIAL CONURBATIONS HAVE A DEMAND OF BOTH ELECTRIC ENERGY AND HEAT OR COLD. THE ENERGY SUPPLY COMPANIES HAVE TO OPERATE THEIR DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEMS POW-ERED BY COGENERATION PLANTS, AND CONSTRUCTED FOR THE WINTER HEATING CAPACITY, WITH LOW INLET TEMPERATURE AND DECREASED MASS FLOW DURING THIS TIME. A MORE EFFICIENT UTILIZATION OF DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEMS WOULD BE ACHIEVED THROUGH THE SUPPLY OF ABSORPTION REFRIGERATING MACHINES. THIS PAPER OFFERS AN ENERGY CONSIDERATION OF THE PROS AND CONS FOR THE COGENERATION AND THE REFRIGERATING USES.
