Integrating district cooling with combined heat and power.
Author(s) : MELOCHE N., LARSSON I., SNOEK C.
Summary
Chillers can be driven with cogeneration thermal energy, thereby offering the potential to use cogeneration throughout the year. The operating efficiencies of three alternative systems, integrating cooling with combined heat and power (CHP), have been compared. The amount of cooling, heating and electricity production were evaluated comparing electric centrifugal cooling and combinations of 1-stage absorption or 2-stage absorption with electric centrifugal cooling.
