Technical and economic feasibility of district cooling with an absorption refrigerating plant associated with a cogenerative power station.

Author(s) : BERETTA G. P.
Summary
An actual case was investigated involving a hospital in Italy situated not far from a cogenerative power station that makes steam available at 1.8 megapascal (about 210 deg C saturation temperature). A double-effect absorption system with COP= 1.1, located close to the power plant, is assumed to be the best choice; the required refrigerating capacity is 8400 kilowatts and the annual refrigeration need is 13.3 gigawatthour.
