Summary

Seasonal cold and heat storage in deep ground formations (aquifers) combined with heat pumps, have been very successful in recent years in achieving low energy buildings. A small absorption heat pump is being developed and tested for a pilot series by a Dutch company, while an electric heat pump boiler for tap water heating is being marketed by another company.
