The lubricating characteristics in a rotary compressor.

Summary

The study clarifies two issues about lubricating characteristics between the vane and piston in a rotary compressor. The first is lubricating characteristics under transient conditions. The second is the influence of refrigerant solubility in the oil. The authors estimate the lubricating characteristics by the theoretical analysis based on the experimental results of the piston dynamics. The combinations of refrigerant and refrigeration oil used in the study were R134a and ester oil, R12 and mineral oil, and R134a and alkyl benzene oil. Conclusions are given.
