Type of article: Article

Summary

PRESENTS A NUMERICAL STUDY OF THE TRANSFER OF HYDROGEN BETWEEN PAIRED REACTORS IN A METAL HYDRIDE HEAT PUMP USING A LUMPED-PARAMETER MODEL. OBTAINS GOOD AGREEMENT WITH EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS FOR BOTH PAIRS OF HYDRIDES USED. SHOWS THAT THERMAL EFFECTS PROVIDE THE DOMINANT RESISTANCE TO THE PROCESS IN THIS STUDY. STATES THAT BOTH TERMS IN THE HEAT TRANSFER RATE CONSTANT ARE IMPORTANT: TEMPERATURE EFFICIENCY, IE CONDUCTION OF HEAT IN A HYDRIDE BED AND CAPACITY RATE OF THE HEAT TRANSFER FLUIDS. (INT. BUILD.
