Summary

IN THE CONTEXT OF THE NEW DEVELOPMENT OF A HERMETIC REFRIGERANT COMPRESSOR SERIES RANGING FROM 8 TO 28 M3 DISPLACEMENT FLOW/HR, EXTENSIVE INVESTIGATIONS WERE CARRIED OUT INTO THE ACOUSTIC CONDITIONS. THE IMPACT OF OPERATING VALVE VARIATIONS AND THE NOISE EMISSION OF THE ENCLOSURE ARE DESCRIBED IN MORE DETAIL. THE REDUCTIONS IN NOISE LEVEL ACHIEVED ON THE COMPRESSOR UNIT (SOURCE) MAY REMAIN INEFFECTIVE WITH A POOR DESIGN OF THE ENCLOSURE, INCLUDING THE FIXTURE.
