THIS OFFICE BUILDING IS ABOUT 15 MILES EAST OF SAN FRANCISCO BAY. IN ADDITION TO THE HVAC, THE AUTHORS ALSO DESCRIBE THE BUILDING FACADE AND LIGHTING SYSTEMS BECAUSE OF THEIR IMPACT ON THE HVAC SYSTEM. THE BUILDING AND ITS SYSTEMS ARE DESCRIBED WITH THE AID OF DIAGRAMS. ICE-MAKING THERMAL STORAGE IS AMONG MANY ECONOMIC ELEMENTS INCORPORATED IN THE AIR CONDITIONING HEATING SYSTEM. THE TOTAL LOAD OF 9,660 KILOW IS MET WITH 0.26 M3/SEC OF CHILLED WATER VARYING IN TEMPERATURE DOWN TO 279.7 K (6.7 DEG C) ; THE DESIGN WATER TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE IS 9 K AND THE MAIN DISTRIBUTION PIPING SIZE IS 16 INCH.
