Summary

The work reported in the paper is a summary of part of the activities developed in The Netherlands in connection with the working group of the B2 Commission. The isentropic and volumetric efficiencies of about 200 different refrigerating compressors for industrial applications have been evaluated. The paper gives the average values and the lowest and largest isentropic and volumetric performances of the most commonly used refrigerating compressors in The Netherlands. The data is presented by volume displacement range of the compressors and gives a state-of-the-art comparison of the performance of the different compressor types.
