THE PAPER EXPLORES THE POSSIBILITY OF PROVIDING ACCEPTABLE SPACE CONDITIONS, USING THE HIGHVELD'S COOL NIGHT AIR BY PRECOOLING THE BUILDING STRUCTURE AT NIGHT. GUIDELINES ARE PROVIDED TO GIVE THE BUILDING DESIGNER A DIRECTION TOWARDS ACHIEVING THE OBJECTIVE OF MAKING THE BUILDING THE MAJOR CLIMATE MODIFIER AND USING THE VENTILATION SYSTEM AS THE REFINING ELEMENT ONLY.
