Summary

THE MEASUREMENT OF THE CHARACTERISTICS OF ENHANCING BOILING HEAT TRANSFER WITH LIQUID NITROGEN AS A BOILING MEDIUM AND USING A TEST APPARATUS FOR BOILING THE CRYOGENIC LIQUID ARE REPORTED. THE TEST RESULTS HAVE INDICATED THAT THE BOILING TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE WALL SURFACEAND BOILING LIQUID FOR ELECTRODEPOSITING POROUS SURFACES ARE, IN GENERAL, LOWER BY ABOUT 3-4 TIMES THAN THAT OF A SMOOTH PLANE SURFACE IN A TUBE. ELECTRODEPOSITION HAS THE ADVANTAGES OF SIMPLE TECHNOLOGY, LOW COST AND EASY MANUFACTURE OVER THE SURFACES OUTSIDE AND INSIDE THE TUBE.
