Summary
The German quick-frozen food industry recorded increased sales in 1998 with respect to 1997: total consumption of quick-frozen foods (with the exception of chicken and ice cream) rose 2.7%, reaching a level of 1 882 665 tonnes, which represents a sales figure of DEM 12.85 to 13.33 billion. Per-capita consumption was 23 kg, this being 600 g more than in 1997.
