Summary
Numerical simulation and experimental research of the energy separation effect in a swirl flow of viscous gas in a round tube has been performed. It has been established for the first time that practically relevant energy separation may occur under conditions of a laminar flow. The influence of swirl degree, Reynolds number and other parameters on the value of energy separation have been investigated.
